According to reports, the incident began when Mensah, who was reportedly experiencing mental health issues, got into an argument with his family members. He then allegedly retrieved a gun and began shooting at his family members. Two family members were injured in the shooting and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police were called to the scene and attempted to negotiate with Mensah to surrender peacefully. However, Mensah refused to cooperate and barricaded himself inside the house. The standoff continued for 13 hours before Mensah finally surrendered to police.
Mensah was arrested and is currently facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct. He is being held in custody at the Harris County Jail.
