Driving Global Impact: Takyi Gyan Wisdom as the 3rd International President-Elect of the African Law Students Association

Takyi Gyan Wisdom is a final year LLB student at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). He has a passion for human rights and a vision to become a human rights activist. He is also a selfless and hardworking team player with years of experience in legal research and leadership.
As the current deputy class representative for LLB 24 at UPSA Law School, he has demonstrated his commitment and excellence in academic and extracurricular activities. He is also a proud alumnus of Effiduase Senior High Commercial School (Effisco), where he served as the Organising Secretary and Vice President for the Literary Group in 2017/2018.

Mr. Takyi has been actively involved in the African Law Students’ Association (ALSA), both at the campus and international levels. He was the campus Ambassador for ALSA at UPSA and later became the Deputy International Communications Director in 2022, making him an international council member of ALSA. He also led the creation of the office of women’s commissioner, which has contributed to the development of ALSA. Currently, he is the first Country Director for ALSA Ghana, under whose leadership numerous achievements have been recorded.


Mr. Takyi is also an ambassador for LAWSANAID, an initiative created to help and guide potential and current law students with visual impairment challenges. He is the country Director for Jenge Global, an initiative to build young Africans. He is a senior Associate at Sikafutro@law, a campus law firm. He is a member of the SDG Africa Movement, J. Reuben Clark Law Society, RFJC East Africa, Professor Lumumba Foundation, and an ambassador for illegal migration.

Mr. Takyi has also volunteered for various causes, such as the World Trade Organization Moot Court competition, Africa Preliminary rounds held at the UPSA Law School in March 2023. He is a deputy head of 3rd December Committee for LAWSANAID Initiative, a member of UPSA SRC Amendment and Review Committee, head of ALSA 2022 Awards committee, a member of ALSA 2022 Annual Conference planning committee, and a member of LAWSANAID Constitutional Drafting and review committee.
